DEPARTMENT OF GOVERNMENT PROCUREMENT AND ASSET MANAGEMENT

1. VISION

To provide world class services on procurement matters by offering efficient and effective and equitable distribution of goods and services. To oversee proper management and utilization of Government Assets. To ensure intensive control measures are in place for eliminating unnecessary costs incurred by government.

2. MISSION STATEMENT

To pool together under one central purchasing agency, the requirements of Materials and Supplies that are of common use to Government Ministries and Departments. To facilitate economic bulk purchasing and bulk storage. Economically dispose of redundant, obsolete and unserviceable stores. To supply user departments with the smaller units on demand.

3. GOAL

To promote and support small scale suppliers by ensuring that they qualify for tenders in order to supply the line ministries for their requirements. Hence professional and competent personnel be engaged for the smooth operation of day to day activities of the Department to enhance efficient and effective delivery of goods and services.

4. OBJECTIVES

	Purchase material and supplies that are of common use to all Government Departments.
	Purchase stock in bulk at economic prices through Tendering Contracts.
	To distribute goods to user Ministries and Departments on requisition.
	To promote our local manufacturers/small scale within the country through workshops, highlight the strategy for selecting a winner/s of the tenders.
	To intensify stores verification throughout the country, inspection on stores procedures and Management of Stores personnel.
	Promote health and safety for the Public and employees.
	Ensure that financial and stores regulations are abide by.
	Economically dispose of obsolete and unserviceable store through public auctions and other means.
	To create HIV/AIDS awareness on public at large.
