TREASURY DEPARTMENT
1. MISSION STATEMENT

To manage public funds through their effective and efficient collection, investment, and disbursement; safeguard public monies and accountable documents by establishing proper accounting systems and ensuring their implementation; facilitate Government procurement of goods and services through an effective and efficient payment system; account for the funds in its custody by maintaining proper records and producing timely statutory and special reports.

2. VISION

The Treasury of 2020 will be a technologically up-to-date, professionally run, and highly efficient arm of the Lesotho Ministry of Finance and Development Planning.
 

3. In the pursuit of its mission and vision, the Treasury pledges at all times to:-

  • Serve the public interest, honor the public trust and demonstrate commitment to professionalism.
  • Conduct and account for its activities in a transparent manner;
  • Build and maintain an organizational climate that promotes a sense of belonging in all its staff;
  • Ensure intimate relationships with line ministries and sister departments providing them with quality and friendly service.
  • Demonstrate keen interest in health related matters, particularly HIV/AIDS, by supporting and participating in awareness campaigns.

  • Development of policies and procedures on government accounting.
  • Provision of advice and guidance.
  • Reporting and information dissemination
  • Management of accounting services.

  • Perform any other related duties that may be assigned due to demand of the service
