INVITATION FOR BIDS (IFB)
THE KINGDOM OF LESOTHO
WATER SECTOR IMPROVEMENT PROJECT PHASE I
SUPPLY OF HYDROMETRIC EQUIPMENT

1. This invitation for bids follows the general procurement
notice for this project that appeared in Development
Business No. 630 of May 16th 2004.
2. The Government of Lesotho has received a credit from the
International Development Association (IDA)] toward the cost
of the Water Sector Improvement Project, and it intends to
apply part of the proceeds of this credit to payments under
the contract for Supply of Hydrometric Equipment.
3. The Ministry of Natural Resources now invites sealed bids
from eligible bidders for the Supply of the following
Hydrometric Equipment:

4. Bidding will be conducted through the National
Competitive Bidding (NCB) procedures specified in the World
Bank's Guidelines: Procurement under IBRD Loans and IDA
Credits May 2004, and is open to all bidders from eligible
source countries as defined in the Guidelines.
5. Interested eligible bidders may obtain further
information from and inspect the bidding documents at the
address provided below from 08:00hrs-16:30hrs.

7. A complete set
of bidding documents in English may be purchased by
interested bidders on the submission of a written
application to the address below and upon payment of a
non-refundable fee of M 300.00 or its equivalent in any
convertible currency. The method of payment will be Bank
Certified Cheque, Cash or Bank Transfer into Current Account
No. 021000038013, Account Name: Lesotho Water Sector
Improvement Project, Bank Name: Nedbank Lesotho, SWIFT CODE
NEDLLSMX. The Bidding Documents may be collected by the
bidder from the address indicated below or sent by courier
or electronically.
8. Bids clearly labelled Bid for Supply of Hydrometric
Equipment must be delivered to the address below by
14:00hrs by 31st March 2009. Bids submitted by fax or email
will not be accepted. Late bids will be rejected. Bids will
be opened in the presence of bidders’ representatives who
choose to attend at the address below at 14:30hrs on 31st
March 2009.
9. All bids must be accompanied by a Bid Securing
Declaration Form.
