Support Services Department Department Head: Contact Phone Contact Email Short Description About Department Support Services - Management Information Systems: - Provide support to Ministry of Finance by means of computer automation, where automation has been identified to be advantageous. - Provide management with strategic information on ICT to support decision making required to manage Government. - To ensure that computer systems for which MISD has been appointed a trustee are correctly managed. - To assist the Ministry of Finance to develop new computer based methods that will enhance administration and control. - To ensure that the Ministry of Finance obtain best value for money from its Information Technology expenditure. Support Services - Finance and Administration: - Facilitates logistical preparations for Ministerial events: consolidates budget for events; coordinates the development of work plans for events; hold preparatory meetings for events. - Monitors implementation of transport policy: advises on transport management issues; authorization of vote books; to ensure that government vehicles are serviced well in time; communication with transport office on all issues related to fleet management. - Develops procedures and guidelines governing finance and administration systems and services to ensure consistency and accountability; develop Public - Assets maintenance plan; develop Security plan to safeguard Government property and assets; advises on matters relating to maintenance of Public Assets; maintain an updated Assets Register and advise on matters relating to procurement and disposal of Public Assets. Support Services - Planning Unit - To prepare capital budget for ongoing projects. - To participate in preparation of the ministerial budget(Revenue,Recurrent and Capital). - To assist the Ministry of Finance departments to prepare capital project proposals. - To monitor and evaluate Ministry of Finance capital projects(Financial and Physical). - To participate in the Public Sector Investment committee. - To coordinate Public Finance Management(PFM) Reform Program.
